YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. -- Yakima County will unveil their "Nitrate Treatment Pilot Program" at noon Tuesday in Sunnyside.
The program is aimed at households with people at high public health risk for nitrate contamination.
County commissioners will be joined by representatives from the EPA, the Yakima Health District, Culligan International, and state senator Jim Honeyford, R-Sunnyside, to discuss the treatment program.
The program will offer nitrate treatment options to households in the lower valley using private wells that have tested high for nitrates.
The event will be held at the Sunnyside Community Center, located at 1521 S. 1st Street.
