Franklin County oath of office ceremony

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.- Some elected officials in Franklin County started this year's work week with an oath of office ceremony.

Six re-elected and three newly elected officials were sworn in at the Franklin County courthouse Monday.

The new prosecutor and auditor both say they will be using technology more than their predecessors.

Prosecutor Shawn Sant says, "Utilizing such things as facebook, e-mail, texting, immediate notification of an individual's release. Or notifications of an upcoming court date. I think that's extremely important."

Auditor Matt Beaton says, "A fresh look a new perspective. I'll use the website a lot more. Try to push the info out. For those that are interested I'd like to get it out to them."

The other new Franklin County official is Josie Koelzer, she was sworn in as Treasurer.
