Testing begins Thursday if you want to be State Trooper

KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Time is running out if you want to be a part of the newest Washington State Patrol recruiting class.

The Washington State Patrol will be giving a written test to potential recruits tomorrow. But in order to test you must have your application filled out beforehand. Lieutenant Roger Wilbur says they are trying to get as many applicants as possible because nearly 200 troopers are eligible to retire next year.

"When we talk about the large groups of people we have to replace that become eligible for retirement, its important to continually look at our recruitment process and make sure we're finding these qualified applicants and finding enough of them," says Wilbur.

Once again, applications must be turned in at Worksource before the testing starts at 2 p.m. tomorrow. You must also meet some minimum requirements in order to apply. You can also fill out the application online and view the list of requirements. Just click here.
