PASCO, Wash. -- Students at Whittier Elementary in Pasco can bring their parents to school this week. The weeklong program called "Every Minute Counts" encourages parents and guardians sit with their kids in class, at lunch, and even recess. School officials record every minute and the class with the most hours wins a reception hosted by ConAgra.
Students and parents think it's a great learning experience. 5th grader, Kaylee Hernandez says, "She knows that I'm studying at least and making stuff with my group, and communicating with them."
The school's principal says it's a great way to welcome parents and show them the school's educational and behavioral standards.
