Central Washington: Keeping It Loose on the Road

Posted: Updated:

ELLENSBURG, Wash. -- The Central Washington Basketball Team knows life on the road, playing 9 of their 13 games away from Ellensburg.

The 17th ranked Wildcats are currently in the middle of a 3-game road tour, winning part 1 this past Saturday, 91 to 86, in overtime at Northwest Nazarene.

Winning is half the battle on the road, the other half, dealing with pranksters and unfriendly confines.

"Other teams like to give us a bad time for practices early in the morning," said Central Senior Chris Sprinker. "The gym is cold but we keep an upbeat attitude and it makes things a lot of fun. We have a lot of crazy, fun times on the road, more than in previous years. I'd say Humberto [Perez] is probably the biggest trouble maker."

"I just do random stuff, just to mess with them, so I kind of get under their skin once in a while," said Perez. "That's how I've always been growing up, just messing around with guys."

Next up for the Wildcats, they are at Seattle Pacific Saturday. Remember SWX will broadcast CWU's January 22nd gameagainst Simon Fraser. That tip-off is at 7:30pm.
