RICHLAND, Wash. -- Richland Police Captain Mike Cobb has been selected as the department's interim chief until a permanent chief is selected.
Capt. Cobb will step into the position beginning January 29th after Chief Tony Corsi's retirement.
Cobb has been with the Richland Police Department since 1982.
He's currently the Regional SWAT Team's incident commander, but he'll step down from that role when he takes the chief's position.
Cobb has also served with the bomb squad, has been a canine officer and served as interim director of Benton County Emergency Services.
A new chief is expected to be named by the end of May.
