YAKIMA, Wash. -- West Valley High School students will get the chance to show off their skills to their peers in the "Wonderland Talent Show" this Friday. Student Klarissa Shepard is putting on the event as part of her senior class project.

About 20 students have signed up and will be singing, playing musical instruments, and will be dancing in the show. Shepard is using her project to help raise money for St. Judes Children's Research Hospital.

"It really connects with how children see and feel the wonderful world around them. And they want to act and to do all of these things when they grow up. And I just thought we should embrace that," Shepard said.

The Wonderland Talent Show is January 14 at 5:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Shepard says the show is free and is open to the public. Donations will be accepted to help St. Judes Children's Research Hospital. West Valley High School is located at 9206 Zier Rd. in Yakima.
