KENNEWICK, Wash. -- In an effort to stay ahead of the coming storm the city of Kennewick is preparing roads with sand and de-icer.
So far our area has seen a lot of white stuff this winter, and for the people responsible for getting it off the road, this season already stands out.
"It does get old sometimes when it just continues we try to keep the shifts low enough that they're not getting tired and going overboard. You know 12 hours is a long time to be behind the wheel, especially in conditions that they're dealing with, " explains Pat Everham, supervisor for the Kennewick municipal services department.
After preparing streets yesterday and early this morning, trucks will sand and de-ice a variety of roads throughout the city tonight around midnight.
