YAKIMA, Wash. -- The post office in Yakima has geared up for the start of the 2011 tax season.
Post office supervisors say they stopped carrying tax forms about three years ago. After hearing complaints from the public, they decided to carry them again.
Timm Lidke, with the U.S. Postal Service in Yakima, says the Internal Revenue Service forms are available at the post office on W. Washington Avenue.
"Our new postmaster Mr. Doug Stephens, believes in bringing customer service back to the people. So he decided this year, we're going to bring all of the tax forms back we could. A lot of customers were a little upset because there are people that can't get down to the IRS or anyplace else," Lidke said.
Lidke says the post office is still waiting on the 1040 forms, but those should be available by the end of the month.
