WEST RICHLAND, Wash. -- Two people were hospitalized after they were attacked by two others with nunchucks in West Richland.
Police say it happened around 8 P.M. in the area of Eagle and Paradise. They say two suspects, ages 19 and 17, attacked an 18 year old man. One of his friends, a 20 year old woman, tried to stop the assault but she was hit with the nunchucks several times.
The suspects ran, but were later arrested for 2nd degree assault. The 19 year has been identified as Steven Proffitt. The second suspect is a juvenile, so his identity is not being released. Proffitt was booked into the Benton County Jail, the other was detained at the Juvenile Justice Center.
The two victims suffered minor injuries, were treated at Kadlec Medical Center and later released.
West Richland Police are still investigating the attack, but say they don't think it was a random assault.
