Law tracking site helps you know what's happening in Olympia
With the legislative session underway, you may be wondering how you can follow what lawmakers are doing.
Think of it like Facebook, which updates you on the status of your friends. This website known as KAP-citizens updates you on the status of bills on topics you may care about.
KAP stands for ''Knowledge As Power'' and the site, Knowledgeaspower.org was created by a nonprofit to give free, online, nonpartisan service to people living in Washington. The whole idea is to track laws in the House and Senate and give people options to communicate with their legislators.
"It provides transparency and it gives accountability for our actions here and for what we're doing, so I think it's fantastic and it's a great idea," Representative Larry Haler said.
The site's founder says it takes the guesswork out of following legislation so people can track what matters to them and what's going on in Olympia.
