There was no let down for the Wildcats against the cellar dwellers in the GNAC conference. 16th ranked Central Washington collecting its sixth straight win, defeating Simon Fraser 88-59 at home yesterday.
The Wildcats from the opening tip applied the heat on the Clan. In the second half it caught up, as CWU put on a clinic. Jamar Berry finished the game with 22 points, and Chris Sprinker added 19 points and 11 boards, as the Wildcats improved to 15-2, and 8-1 in conference play.
Head coach Greg Sparling added, "We we're worried about a little bit about the Western hangover, but I thought our guys once we got in a groove really did some nice things. Once we started going back inside. We settled for the three way to much in the first half. Once we got going inside things really opened up."
Sprinker added, "It was gonna be kinda of tough to keep our intensity up, just because the competition level... but we definitely wanted to make sure we pushed them the whole game... And we're trying to get the score to really reflect our effort."
