YAKIMA, Wash. -- A 23-year-old woman accused of being the getaway driver in a Toppenish murder, more than a year ago, is sentenced Wednesday.
Isabel Sanchez was sentenced to a maximum allowed by the court, of two years in Yakima County jail.
Sanchez pled guilty earlier this month to two counts of rendering criminal assistance in the March 2009 gang-related shooting. She was given one year for each count.
Sanchez was also ordered to pay $1,400 in restitution and court costs.
Her brother, Anthony Sanchez, 22, was convicted of killing Israel Diaz, 20, and Estevan Silva, Jr., 17, in the drive-by shooting. He was sentenced to 50 years in prison.
Prosecutors say Isabel helped her brother out by driving the vehicle, while Anthony fired the shots.
