PASCO, Wash. -- More than four thousand parents and children packed the TRAC in Pasco Saturday, as well as Friday for the Fifth Annual Family Expo.
Katie Klute, the event organizer says this was started as a time set aside for parents to spend time with their children, since in most families, both parents work.
This year Klute focused on making it educational for children.
"This year we brought on the Pacific Science Center and with budget cuts at the schools, they miss out on bringing it to the Tri-Cities. So that was important for me to bring it here so that kids can have the hands on science that they lack," says Klute.
The expo had several science sections, including an inflatable Planetarium.
Parents also had the chance to meet with local hospitals, pediatricians, and schools.
