RICHLAND, Wash. -- Police are looking for suspects involved in an assault Sunday night in Richland. They are searching for James Herting, 25, who is wanted for questioning in regard to the attack.
Police say it happened around 8 PM Sunday in the area of Goethals and Aaron Drive in Richland. 22 year old Dennis Travis told police he was walking in the area when three men came up behind him. Travis says one of them hit him multiple times in the head and arm, with a crowbar. He said it felt as if he were blacking out, but remembers being taken into a house where the three suspects allegedly continued to assault him.
Travis says he was able to escape from the house by jumping through the living room window. A passerby picked him up and took him to Kadlec Medical Center. He was treated and released.
Officers were able to find the house where Travis was allegedly assaulted. The home on the 200 block of Adams had a broken front window, but James Herting, the resident, was not there. If you know where he is, please call Benton County Dispatch 628-0333.
