14th ranked Central Washington likes to fly up and down the court, and put points on the board. Only three times this season have the Wildcats scored less than 70 points. This past Saturday, Central edged Alaska Anchorage on the road 52-50. The fewest points scored in a victory since 1981. With the win, the Wildcats improving to 17-2 on the season, but more importantly the team has the belief it can win a grind-it-out style game.
Senior guard Chris Scott said, "We didn't want to play in the fifties at all. You know we couldn't get to the bucket, cause they were stepping in and taking charges on us, so it was kind of slowing us down and making us hesitant."
Head coach Greg Sparling added, "It just takes us to another level. That if we have to get in a grind out game, we can do it. The defense we played Saturday night you can't really put into words until you watch it on tape. When we had to make the rotations we made them good, but I think our hustle plays carried us to the victory."
