PASCO. WA - A Franklin County judge wouldn't let a man walk out of court after sentencing him today.
The public defender asked that Neftali Camacho be allowed to go home and pack a bag before reporting to jail. But the prosecutor pointed out that Camacho failed to show up for his scheduled sentencing last month and letting him go free would be too much of a risk.
Superior Court Judge Carrie Runge sentenced Camacho to six months in jail for trying to lure children to his home.
Camacho says he wanted to show the children Christian-based videos.
In addition to the jail time, the judge ordered Camacho to pay more than $1,000 in fines and court costs, and told him not to have any contact with the children involved in the case.
