Central Washington Women: Burke Takes Over at Point

Posted: Updated:

ELLENSBURG, Wash. -- For the Central Washington Women, Daisy Burke is taking over for Luv Rattler at starting point guard. Rattler has been plagued with turnovers this season.

Burke is being charged with quarterbacking the Wildcat attack, as a freshman.

"I think Daisy gives us a better start to the game," said Head Coach Jeff Whitney. "She keeps us calm and doesn't try to run up and down the floor the first 7 or 8 minutes, where a game could be lost."

"I think I try more to set up the plays and actually run through the plays and that in a way slows the pace down and gets us settled down." said Burke. "I feel like because I'm starting there is going to be more pressure but I think I can handle it."

The Central Washington Women will be live on SWX Saturday at 5:05pm. The Men will follow at 7:30pm.
