PASCO, Wash. -

PASCO, Wash. -- Jim Morasch worked at the Tri-Cities Airport for the last 30 years, creating long lasting relationships with countless co-workers.

Tuesday, January 25th, Morasch was involved in a head-on collision just North of Pasco. Another man, Rafael Santiago Cruz, died at the scene. Morasch, 68, passed away just after 5 PM Thursday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Investigators blame the crash on icy road conditions.

KNDU spoke to several people who worked with Jim over the years. Jim Toomey, the Executive Director for the Port of Pasco said, "Jim was not just a good friend to everybody he was everybody's best friend. He wasn't just a good friend to the airport industry, he was the best friend to the airport industry. So he's just going to be missed at all levels."

"It's a loss to the airport and a loss to the community. Our dealings with him were always positive, he was very competent individual, very personable individual, a great asset to the airport and from our standpoint he was a great person to work with. He'll be hard to replace," said Sheriff Richard Lathim, with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.

The Port of Pasco has set up a way to leave kind words for Jim's family on their website,
