KENNEWICK, Wash.— A candlelight vigil is being held Saturday night for the corrections officer that was strangled to death inside the Monroe Prison Chapel where she worked.

34-year-old Jayme Biendl will be remembered at 10:30pm at the Washington State Penitentiary in Walla Walla and the Coyote Ridge Correctional Complex in Connell.

Officials say the alleged attacker is an inmate, Bryon Scherf, who's serving a life sentence for rape and assault.
