The Central Washington women defeated Alaska 85-73 Saturday, snapping its four game losing streak. Head coach Jeff Whitney in the process earning his 200th career victory the Wildcats leading man.
One of the key contributors in Saturday's win was freshman point guard Daisy Burke. Whom recently took over as the starting point guard. Burke shined against Alaska, leading the 'Cats in scoring with a career-high 22 points, while coming of age in the process.
Head coach Jeff Whitney said, "Daisy's the biggest thing, she runs our team. She runs our sets and she for a freshman is extremely calm. I just think she's coming along. She's got a mentality that really she doesn't... She got rattled earlier in the year, but right now she's starting to look like a little bit more seasoned. Maybe she's a sophomore now."
