KENNEWICK - Kennewick's Columbia Park Golf Course will need several repairs before it's season opening, scheduled for March 1st.
A trailer must be brought in to replace the aging clubhouse, which will cost about $7,000. The trailer must be in place before CourseCo can manage the course.
"Ultimately the club house is something that's been in our capital improvement plan. We added it to be replaced at some point down the road, maybe in three four, five years. As it is it may be a little sooner than that," says Gary Deardorff, who works for the City of Kennewick Municipal Services Department.
Deardorff also says there are other repairs that are needed which total about $60,000, but those will happen after the course opens.
After the trailer, the next item on the repair agenda are the poles that hold the netting for the driving range. That is estimated to cost $22,000.
The course needs a new fuel storage area costing about $15,000 as well.
