Orthopedic surgeon speaks at Lourdes' "Dinner with the Doctor" Event
PASCO, Wash. -- Lourdes Health Network hosted another of its "Dinner with the Doctor" events Thursday night at the Red Lion Hotel in Pasco.
These events are very popular and even include a complimentary dinner.
The guest speaker was orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Hazel who talked about new technologies for hip and knee replacement.
Dr. Hazel is the only surgeon in the Tri Cities to perform the "Makoplasty" procedure, which is a robotic computerized navigation system for partial knee replacements.
He says a lot of people get wrong information from the internet and magazines and events like "Dinner with the Doctor" allow him to better inform people both on their own issues and new treatments.
"I find it's exciting technology. It doesn't get diffused to the general public except for this type of forum. So I do it purely as a means to disseminate exciting changes that are occurring in the field of orthopedic surgery," said Dr. Hazel.
Dr. Hazel is with Try City Orthopaedic Clinics, which has offices in both Richland and Kennewick.
