Wapato Wolves 'lend a paw' for fire victims

Posted: Updated:

WAPATO, Wash. -- The Wapato Wolves varsity boys and girls basketball teams are "lending a paw" to the victims of the fire in White Swan over the weekend.

There will be a spaghetti feed and concert fundraiser Tuesday night, from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.

Organizers are asking for clothes, blankets, pillows and hygiene items, and cash donations.

The team will also be taking donations in the high school gymnasium from 3:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Wapato School District community relations manager Mike Balmelli says Wapato and White Swan have "always enjoyed a great friendly rivalry on the basketball court. Wapato teams see this as the least they can do to help their White Swan neighbors who are in need."

Wapato High School is located at 1103 S. Wasco Ave.
