Richland, Wash. -- The Benton - Franklin Humane Society is closer to paying for their new shelter thanks to a Richland couple. Bob and Joy Vosburgh made a $250,000 donation to the shelter.
As a result of Joy's battle against stage 4 Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease or C.O.P.D and dementia. The couple felt now was the right time to give, "I just feel that they're the last of the people on earth that we don't have facilities or things to care for them," says Joy Vosburgh.
Because of the donation, the Benton - Franklin Humane Society is only $200,000 away from paying off their project. The Vosburgh's are avid animal lovers and hope the donation will save more animals from being euthanized.
