PASCO, Wash. -- A Pasco man accused of killing his pregnant ex-girlfriend was in court today.
Kurtis Chapman had asked for a new lawyer, but when the judge mentioned the request, Chapman changed his mind.
Chapman's attorney issued a new motion to dismiss the case because of the way Franklin County Prosecutors handled a recorded conversation between Chapman and his attorney.
"One, they didn't make sure that the recording be preserved. In other words, that it be filed into the court registry of clerks office where it can be kept safe so the judge can hear it himself."
Franklin County Prosecutors are preparing a response to the defense request for dismissal. Chapman's trial is set for March 9th.
