RICHLAND, Wash. -- Not many people can say they have lived a century, but one Richland woman can and she celebrated with friends and family today.
Jeanne Gorce spent her 101st birthday opening cards and blowing kisses to all the people who came to wish her well.
Gorce credits her long life to dancing. For many years she practiced ballet and says that along with a good outlook on life that's what kept her going strong, "life is good," says Groce.
Throughout Gorce's life, she has seen many things and gone many places, but her daughter Annik Van Dam says while her mothers long life runs in the family genes, it's still shocking, "It's just so incredible that I never expected her to live that long so I'm just in shock right now."
Gorce has been in physical therapy at life care center in Richland for five months. The staff wanted to throw her a party before she leaves.
