Final cuts are rapidly approaching for the Tri-Cities Fever. As of today, 35 players remain with just 30 available roster spots. After a weekend of rest, the Fever hopefuls took to the gym. Working on building stamina, strength, and agility.
The players only have three more days to impress the coaches, before final cuts Thursday. Can you say rising tension? All while the team gets ready for the season opener this Saturday at home against Arizona.
Projected starting quarterback Houston Lillard said, "I try to keep them calm you know and not think about the negative aspect of it. Thinking about the positive and just keeping other options open. Even if their confident about making the team or not. Always leave yourself with other options so you won't be stuck in a ditch."
Fever wide receiver Augustine Agyei said, "People just kinda forget about that kind of have some fun while we can. Things are just out of your control, so kind of do the best that we can."
Returning Fever defensive back Lionell Singleton added, "I like the competitiveness you know what I'm saying. You can't go nowhere else and compete, and try to get a roster spot anywhere else."
