KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The Tri-City Americans have 11 games left in the regular season to get ready for the playoffs. Thank goodness the playoffs don't start today.

The Ams have lost 5 of their last 6, including a 5-0 drubbing in Vancouver Monday night. The Ams battle division leading Portland Tuesday night at the Toyota Center.

Coach Jim Hiller breaks down the ups and downs of hockey.

"There's no magic pixie dust, you wish there was," said Hiller. "It's just a matter of sticking with it, sticking with the simple game plan, trusting in that and when pucks start to go in, which they haven't been, clearly, they usually go in in bunches. When you get on the wrong side of it, you know we're hitting posts and missing chances and it feels like, when are my going to score again? And then the next two shots go in consecutively and I'm the king of the world, this game is easy."
