KENNEWICK, Wash. -- CourseCo Inc. Officially opened Columbia Park Golf Course March 1st, as planned. The City of Kennewick had some trouble with the course after looking for a new management company, and going through a lawsuit, but now it's up and running with the main focus on the season.
CourseCo Inc is the new management company out of California which also runs Columbia Pointe in Richland. They put in a temporary trailer because the club house at Columbia Park is deemed unsafe.
After the trailer, the poles that hold the netting for the driving range also need to be repaired.
Tom Bugbee, the Assistant Executive Director of Operations says he's excited for April when they expect things to get busy.
"The big thing you'll see up here is big activity, more programs , a little bit more active management, and probably more staff on site working with the golfers," says Bugbee.
He also says Columbia Park is officially the new home of First Tee, a program which provides young people of all backgrounds an opportunity to develop life-enhancing values such as confidence, perseverance and judgment through golf and character education.
