It's been more than two weeks, since Americans starting goalie Drew Owsley says he sustained a sprained left knee against Spokane. He's been rehabbing and resting ever since. Tri-City has struggled in his absence, going 3-7, and allowing nearly four goals a game.
The last five days, Owsley has been back at practice, and he says his left knee is pain free. Leaving the door open to a possible return this Friday at home against Everett.
"You know the last couple weeks it feels that something has been missing in my life. Just kind of have been in the weight room and in the stands. It's not the same as being out here, and it's obviously tough watching. It's tough watching anytime. Knowing we're losing a little bit it's even harder. You kind of feel helpless sitting up in the stands. You kind of feel you're letting the guys down a little bit. I'm really excited to get back, it's been a couple of weeks. And I'm just excited to get back out there and help the team."
