MOXEE, Wash. -- East Valley Central Middle School was evacuated Thursday morning after a bomb threat note was found in the restroom.
According to East Valley School District superintendent John Schieche, the school was evacuated by about 10:00 a.m. No bomb was found and students returned to class by about 10:45 a.m.
"As the principals of the building began investigating students and looking at the camera system, we were able to identify students that had been involved in the situation," Schieche said.
Schieche says the school has a Crisis Response Plan they practice, to handle situations like bomb threats.
Yakima County Sheriff's deputies arrested three teenage girls. The girls were booked into Yakima juvenile detention.
Schieche says the school will conduct its own investigation into the bomb threat. The students arrested have been placed on emergency expulsion.
