YAKIMA, Wash. – The Yakima School District is asking the public to identify educators that have made a positive impact in the community and nominate them for the 2011 Crystal Apple Awards.
Teachers, counselors, administrators, and others who interact with students and make a difference in their lives as well as their futures are the ideal candidate for the award, according to the district.
Each recipient of a Crystal Apple also takes home a $1,000 check at the annual event inside the Yakima Convention Center. The awards are sponsored by local businesses.
Nomination forms are available at the Community Relations Office on 104 N. 4th Ave. Call (509) 573-7007 for more information. The deadline is Thursday, March 17.
