Development continues on Little Badger despite lawsuit
RICHLAND, Wash. -- This project is expected to add around 145 new homes to the area. Currently construction crews are performing utility installation and grating work on the land.
The Richland City Council approved the development back in dDecember of 2007, but a lawsuit from residents delayed any progress. The issue is still being debated in court, but the city remains optimistic about the development.
"We have anticipated additional development in this area. As a matter of fact, there were plans in place on this property I believe when it was originally annexed into the city. So it been a long time actually materializing," explains Richland Deputy City Manager Rich King.
The construction is a two part project which would include 58 single family homes and 87 townhouses. Milo Bauder is the developer responsible for the work. His firm would not go into details as to what their plans are or what the current cost of the development is.
