TOPPENISH, Wash. -- Expansion plans have been approved for Yakama Nation Legends Casino.
Tribal voters approved a $90 million expansion during their general council meeting, Tuesday night.
The project includes a 200-room, 6 story hotel, a new restaurant, a spa and swimming pool, a 5,400 square-foot banquet room, childcare center and an expanded casino.
Leaders say groundbreaking will take place in late spring or early summer. The project will take about 18 months to complete.
The next move will be to secure the $90 million 6-to-8 year term loan. Casino leaders say there are at least three financial institutions ready to sign.
Current monthly payments made to tribal members from casino revenue should not be affected, according to casino officials in a written release.
Leaders note water, sewer and electricity for the expansion are already in place.
