Fever's Young Named IFL Offensive Player of the Week

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Tri-Cities Fever Wide Receiver Oliver Young is the IFL Offensive Player of the Week. Young had 4 touchdowns in the Fever's loss to Wenatchee Valley last week.

The Fever have scored 129 points in their first 2 games. Their 64 points a game ranks 2nd in the IFL. The Fever also rank 2nd when it comes to yards a game.

Tri-City returns home Saturday to take on Fairbanks, looking to push its record to 2-1.

Coach 'Shack' says he just keeps things simple with the offense.

"I try to instill in them, take what the defense is giving you," said Shackleford. "We don't need a big play, we need the right play, and I think they're buying in. We have better protection this year. We're just more talented at every position."

"We see ourselves as a team that is really going to control our whole conference and we're shooting for the stars at this point," said Fever Linebacker Jason Beauchamp. "We want the best."
