KENNEWICK, Wash.- Little leaguers will be learning from a former professional baseball player.
Open registration for spring baseball at the YMCA started this week, and this year the young athletes will go through a hitting clinic with a former San Francisco Giants player at the batters box in Kennewick.
"We start with the fundamentals and we work from there. Giving the kids an avenue so if they want to go into that sport they have they can function in that sport," says former San Francisco Giant Lenny Ayres.
Organizers of the YMCA says they don't keep score, but the clinic is a good way to challenge the nine and ten year olds who are getting more and more competitive.
