Former Tri-Citian experiences affects of Tsunami in Hawaii
OAHU, Hi. -- A former Tri-City resident living in Hawaii has been caught up in the effects of the earthquake in Japan.
Bryan Coonfield and his family live on the island of Oahu. They were awakened in the middle of night by warning sirens, alerting people about a possible tsunami coming their way.
"We didn't get much sleep tonight at all, we're keeping an eye out on things. There were a lot of people going door to door checking on each other and finding out if anybody else had information, it was pretty tense," explains Coonfield.
Coonfield has lived in Hawaii since last May. People there were also rattled by a 4.5 magnitude earthquake that hit the larger island of Hilo. That quake was unrelated to the one in Japan.
