KENNEWICK, Wash. -- It is a game of 4s for the Tri-City Americans. The Ams have 4 regular season games left and are locked in as the 4th seed going into the Western Conference Playoffs.
That means these last 4 games are simply a tune-up for the playoffs.
Something the Ams will be working on is team defense. Tri-City has given up 3 or more goals in 7 of its last 10 games.
That will be an area of concern especially when the postseason rolls around.
"I think our defense has been okay," said Ams Defenseman Tyler Schmidt. "But, teams have been scoring on the power play for sure. We have to tighten that up. We have to take less penalties obviously and not let them score on the power play."
"There's been times when we've given up too many," said Ams Head Coach Jim Hiller. "We've had games where I thought we played pretty well and not come out on the right side of it based on scoring chances for and against."
