PASCO, Wash. - WSU Tri-Cities is helping get 8th graders across the area ready for high school and college.
It's part of their Gear-Up program. Friday morning they hosted their 4th Annual Career Day at Columbia Basin College. Almost 400 kids from six different schools learned about different careers. Over 20 presenters where there, including KNDU, law enforcement, the Franklin County Coroner, health leaders and educators. Students say the program was really helpful.
"You'll be inspired to do anything you want to do in life, by people telling you the skies the limit," said Janelly Batan, from Prescott School.
"I just think that the more you know, the more job opportunities you have, and if more job opportunities you have, the more likely you'll have a job in the future," Johnathon Frazer, Finley Middle School.
Some students already had some ideas about their future.
