YAKIMA, Wash. – Fisher Park Golf Course is expected to open for the season Friday as the parks and recreation department placed the finishing touches earlier this week.
"This is not an easy course," said Ken Wilkinson. "People think this is easy."
Wilkinson is the manager for the parks department and says budget concerns remain but he will not change prices for the new season. There has been a reduction in spending for promotion though.
"It is great for beginners," he added about the course. "But it is not easy to have this asset right here where people can just get to it really quick and enjoy a good round of golf."
Wilkinson believes the park is a unique experience for the city and encourages the public to support it by visiting often throughout the year.
"Last Century Pricing" is back and will run for the first two months on weekdays. The price for one adult will be $7, the fee from 1999.
Fisher Price plans to offer several promotions for various groups and special events this season.
