KENNEWICK, Wash.—Thousands of people volunteered Saturday to help make Kennewick a little cleaner.
About 3,000 volunteers with the Port of Kennewick, City of Kennewick, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and community volunteers showed up for the 7th annual Sharefest.
Volunteers cleaned Duffy's Pond, the Boys and Girls Club, Leslie Road and number of other areas.
"We bring our kids down and it's a lot of take, take, take, and this is a way for us help the boy understand about giving back," says Tia Pollick, volunteer.
"It means that we can have a great time here, and we can pick up for the community so the animals and the river don't get hurt or they don't die," says Addison Pollick, volunteer.
