RICHLAND, Wash.—March is Developmental Disabilities month and in celebration 750 people showed up at John Dam Plaza Saturday for the annual ‘March for Respect.'
Organizers say some people often forget to respect people living with developmental disabilities. To remind people, participants walked just under a mile around John Dam Plaza listening to music and carrying signs. Those who are effect by developmental disabilities say the walk helps them feel supported.
"Seeing the Arc as my family. Being a member of the arc has been a huge success on my life," says Evan Young, Arc member.
Coordinators say they have never seen this big of a turn out and hope next year will be an even bigger success.
