Earlier this week the Americans punched it's ticket into the Western Conference semi-finals, by sweeping their series with Vancouver. As Tri-City continues to advance in the playoffs, it's important to rely on experience. On players like last year's Western Conference finals MVP, goalie Drew Owsley, captain Kruise Reddick, or maybe defenseman Matt MacKenzie. Acquired mid-way thru this season in a trade from Calgary.
MacKenzie apart of the Hitmen team that beat the Ams in last year's WHL finals. We caught up with Mack to see how he uses that playoff run, to help his new running mates.
MacKenzie said, "I think winning it makes you realize how much fun and how exciting was and makes me want to do it that much more this year. Say Tri-City was maybe the underdogs going into it... They were a lot younger last year... And I think this year everyone's a year older... And year more experience. When you win a game it's the best feeling in the world. When you lose a game it's kind of the worst. You kind of have to have a short mind and get over things quickly. You can't be too high or too low in the playoffs... Especially as you move from round to round."
