KENNEWICK, Wash.—It is Autism Awareness month and the only ‘Responding to Autism Center' in the Tri-Cities celebrated their one-year opening over the weekend.
The center reports, about one in every 110 children is affected by Autism. Now workers are trying to bring more education to the community. The center has family treatment, classes for parents and children, screening and support groups. It is all on a sliding scale or free.
The center is hosting events throughout the month. The next event is on April 9th at the center. A movie will be played from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. For more information contact the center at 396-9230.
