YAKIMA, Wash. – The Young Democrats of Washington wrapped up their three-day convention Sunday at the Red Lion Hotel ready to help their party run successful campaigns in the fall and next year.
More than 100 delegates from a dozen different chapters came to central Washington for the annual conference made up of loyal party supporters under 36 as well as their older supporters.
Rob Dolin is a member of the King County chapter of YDWA and also the statewide group's secretary. He says it's a great time to be a democrat.
"The party in Washington is very much on an upswing," said Dolin. "In Washington state, we were kind of a blue wall against the red wave that swept a lot of the country."
The Young democrats alternate the side of the state each year that hosts their annual convention.
