KENNEWICK, Wash.—It's Earth month and to celebrate Americorps Volunteers hosted the 6th annual ‘Go Wild for Reading.'
The purpose of the event was to teach children the importance of protecting our environment through books, activities, crafts and fun speakers.
"They're having fun. They enjoy it. I know they get a book when they leave," says Mike Hanes, Americorps Volunteer.
The event continues through Thursday at Mid-Columbia library branches and the Richland Public Library.
