DAYTON, Wash. -- After new ownership took over at Ski Bluewood, the big question is how's business there.
New owner Travis Stephenson says in his first year, the resort has seen a 10 to 20 percent increase in skiers. Stephenson says he expected that number to be a lot higher, but mother nature got in the way.
"In a year that has truly been a great snow year, January was about as bad as it could have been in terms of snow. I mean it rained relentlessly, so that was a challenge," says Stephenson.
January may have been rough, but March and April have been busy due to decent amounts of snow. And they're usually slow times for the resort . Stephenson expects between 33 to 35,000 skiers to have visited the resort before the last day on Sunday.
