RICHLAND, Wash.—Construction for the new Gold's Gym in Richland was supposed to begin in January but ground breaking has been delayed for the past few months.
KNDU has been in contact with the business. The Gold's Gym Director of Fitness, Jon Evans, says everything is done on their end but two outside factors have caused the delay. They had a one-month delay waiting for city approvals. Now they're waiting for state approval on health standards.
One question he has been hearing is whether or not they have the funding. Evans says they do.
"As of now we are good with the banks. We've had some little hiccups here and there but it's nothing to be worried about. We were never worried about it. Everything is good and 100% there," Jon Evans, Director of Fitness.
Evans also says the construction team they are working with is ready. Basically it is a waiting game this point.
The Director of Fitness says they plan to break ground early march. The delay may push back the opening, but he says they are doing everything they can to stay on track.
