KENNEWICK, Wash. -- More than 150 dogs and cats were showcased at Columbia Park for the Tri-Cities Super Pet Adoption Day.
Local shelters, and those from as far as Pendleton and Adams County brought their furry friends, hoping someone would fall in love.
Debbie Bailey, one of the organizers of the events, says it makes people more comfortable to come to a park. "it is better than going and looking at animals in cages. Some people don't like to go to shelters. It's depressing to them, and this is a great way to come out and to meet and greet the animals in a positive, fun, family way."
Thanks to support from PetsMart, and 95 volunteers, more than 50 animals went home with their new families today, and 28 others were applied for.
